About us
We provide fun and affordable arts and crafts classes, kits and supplies for all ages and abilities. Classes are provided in our Nanaimo studio as well as at community pubs, wineries, schools and retirement villages.
We also have some availability to provide crafts for events at venues in other areas of BC and AB. Parents are not required to stay with children unless 1:1 support will be needed for most of the activity.
Each participant is encouraged to express their artistic side and create their own unique work of art. We want you to have fun, enjoy the process and we can make adaptations as needed to help you succeed.
We have experience working with adults and children with diverse abilities and are happy to help make modifications when requested. We are wheelchair accessible (crushed gravel pathway to studio) but unfortunately we do not have a wheelchair accessible washroom.

If you have an idea for a class that you do not see on our website, we'd love to hear about it and we'll do our best to create a class :)
For anyone with allergies to pets; please be aware that we do have dogs (chocolate labradors) in our home but they are not in our business area during classes unless permitted by all participants.

*Cancelation policy: We understand that life happens! If you are unable to attend for any reason please let us know as soon as possible so that we can fill your ticket space. We can offer take home kits for some of our classes or a credit on your account that you can use towards any future registration. No-shows will not be reimbursed and refunds will only be provided to visitors from out of town or if we cancel the class.
About our Instructors
Jen is the founder and lead instructor of Lost Arts Club, a business she created from a love of crafting, community and bringing people together.
​
Growing up, Jen spent time learning a wide variety of crafts from her grandmother. As she got older, she realized that many of these traditional creative skills were becoming “lost arts”—not because people weren’t interested in learning them, but because they didn’t always have someone to teach them.
​
She saw a need for fun, family-friendly and affordable creative experiences where people of all ages and abilities could learn something new in a relaxed and welcoming environment. From that idea, Lost Arts Club was born.
​
Before turning her passion for crafting into a career, Jen was educated and worked as a social worker supporting adults with diverse abilities. Her career path changed when her own daughter began experiencing challenges related to autism, leading Jen to pursue other careers, focus more of her time on her family and eventually build Lost Arts Club.
​
Throughout the different stages of her life, crafting has remained a constant. Jen has always appreciated the relaxation and stress relief that comes from creating something with your hands, but even more importantly, she loves the experience of sharing creativity with friends, family and community.
​
Her curiosity and love of learning new skills have helped Lost Arts Club grow to offer more than 200 different arts and crafts classes. Jen is continually discovering new projects, learning new techniques and finding approachable ways to teach them to others—especially people who may believe they “aren’t crafty.”
​
Jen also loves travelling and bringing Craft Nights to smaller and remote communities where residents may have fewer opportunities to participate in creative activities. For her, some of the most rewarding events are those that bring people together who might not otherwise have access to classes like these.
​
Community continues to be an important part of Lost Arts Club. Jen participates in local festivals and community events by providing creative activities and supports programs serving youth and adults with diverse abilities.
​
At the heart of Lost Arts Club is a simple idea: creativity should be accessible to everyone. You don’t need experience or artistic talent—you just need the opportunity to try.

And sometimes, all it takes is someone willing to show you how.
McKegney, is an Accounts Receivable Clerk by profession and a creative at heart, she has loved arts and crafts for as long as she can remember. Her creative journey began with drawing at just 10 years old and has grown over the years into a passion for exploring all kinds of creative outlets—from sketching and painting to crochet and everything in between.
​
For her, creating is about much more than making something beautiful. It’s an opportunity to relax, express herself, learn new skills and experience the simple satisfaction of bringing an idea to life. Whether she’s picking up a pencil, paintbrush or crochet hook, she is happiest when she’s creating something with her hands.
​
She especially loves sharing that creativity with others. There is something incredibly rewarding about helping someone discover a new skill, watching their confidence grow and seeing their excitement when they create something they’re proud of.
​
She treasures the opportunity to share her passion, encourage others to explore their own creativity and help make crafting approachable and enjoyable for everyone. She is excited to be part of Lost Arts Club and looks forward to sharing her creativity while teaching and creating alongside others.
Erin is a local artisan and educator who teaches lost art projects and craft for all ages.
She is passionate about sharing creative expression and art skills with a focus on fun skills based projects.
Erin has been supporting neurodiverse students in alternative schools and teaching art workshops in a variety of mediums and techniques. You may find her volunteering, hosting workshops and facepainting at local community events, markets and music festivals.
Erin’s life long enthusiasm and passion for the arts has lead her to join Lost Art Club teaching craft projects to further spread the joy of expressing creative expression in fun, comfortable and equitable environments.
